The following people will serve as staff for the 2010 Core Program in The Diocese of Olympia. This staff will be supplemented by other presenters whose names will appear here as the planning for the College's core program is completed.
The Rev. Melissa Skelton
Melissa Skelton, currently the Rector of St. Paul's, Seattle, has served as a Congregational Development Consultant in the Diocese of Maine and as a Trainer for The Church Development Institute for over ten years. Prior to moving to Seattle, Melissa was Rector of Trinity Church, Castine, Maine, the principle in an independent consulting practice. Prior to this she served as Vice President and Leader of System Development at Tom's of Maine and Vice President of Administration at The General Theological Seminary where she also led The College for Bishops. In addition to her M.Div., Melissa holds an MA in English, an MBA, a Certificate in Organization Development from National Training Labs, and a Certificate from The Church Development Institute

Sue Clary
Sue Clary holds a BA in Education from Western Washington University and MA in School Administration for Seattle Pacific University. Sue, who served for thirty years as a teacher and school principal in the public school system, has been a trainer and consultant for the Diocese of Olympia for many years. As a part of her training, Sue completed the Diocese’s Leadership Skills Institute including workshops in group process, design skills and organization development. Sue is a member of St. Luke's Church in Sequim, and serves on multiple parish and diocesan committees, boards, and commissions, including Diocesan Council and the DSOMAT Board.
Ed Doll
Ed Doll , a University of Washington graduate, has worked in the insurance industry for many years, managing a retail and wholesale insurance agency and training auditors and loss control employees both in the West and throughout the United States. Beginning in 2003, Ed joined the Diocese of Olympia'sTraining and Consulting Services Group and has since acted as a consultant to call committees and for the parish profile process, organized and facilitated Vestry retreats, and assisted in the introduction of a Mutual Ministry Review process in a parish.
The Rev. Morris Hauge
Morrie's experience with experiential training began with attendance at an experiential training program in the Diocese of Olympia. He was then chosen to be on the staff of the same training and also received training in assisting organizations in long range planning. Over the next decade he was involved with training in the Diocese of Michigan and the Diocese of Oregon. He then went on to receive training in Congregational Development, Conflict Management and Resolution and Consulting offered by the Diocese of Olympia. More recently, he has been on the staffs of the Leadership Skills Institute in the Diocese of Olympia and received training and certification as a trainer in the Myers-Briggs Typology Indicator (MBTI) and training in Team Development using the MBTI. He has also received Interim Ministry training and has conducted Vestry Retreats, working with several congregations in areas of conflict and development. He has served as a consultant in Search/Call processes and has been a member of the TACS (Training and Consulting Services) group for many years.
Alissa Newton holds a BA in Christian Theology from Seattle Pacific University. In the Diocese of Olympia, she is involved in the Training and Consulting group, and is also a Postulant for Holy Orders. Alissa has served as Junior Warden of St. Paul's Seattle for the past two years, and serves in various leadership positions in her parish. She also holds a certificate from the Church Development Institute and has acted as an intern trainer for the Institute at the summer national program and for the Diocese of Northern Indiana.
The Rev. Eldon Olson
Dr. Eldon Olson is an ordained minister with the Lutheran (ELCA) church. In addition to his years as a pastor, for eleven years he served as the Director of Consultation to Clergy for the ELCA and LCMS of the Northwest. Though officially retired since 2004, he is a Consultant to Denominational Systems (Episcopal, Methodist, and Presbyterian) focusing on healing historically troubled and traumatized congregations, clergy sexual boundaries, and pastoral care to clergy. He now serves as a spiritual coach for the Pastoral Leadership Program at Seattle University.
