On March 18, 2017, retiring Bishop Jim Waggoner handed over his crozier (a shepherd’s staff, symbolic of the office of bishop) to the Rt. Rev. Gretchen M. Rehberg during the service at St. John’s Cathedral in Spokane. Bishop Rehberg is the ninth bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Spokane. Bishop Rehberg is a graduate of the College for Congregational Development and also a trainer in the College. The College for Congregational Development extends it’s congratulations to Bishop Rehberg and looks forward to following her ministry in the Diocese of Spokane.
