What Tuition Includes
Tuition includes all overnight accommodations, including lodging in private rooms and meals at the retreat center, trainers’ fees and manual. Tuition does not include: Required reading materials (approximately $70 per year–books can be shared among parish team members). Once registered, you will be contacted about required readings. (Overnight accommodations are Sunday through Friday nights for the week-long intensive session.)
Refund Policy
The Diocese must make significant deposits in advance to reserve the facility at Dumas Bay for our time there. We are bound by their cancellation and refund policies. Many students are receiving significant scholarships from the Diocese to attend and the expenses for the retreat and the trainers must be met regardless.
If you are attending the weekend sessions and need to drop out, no refunds can be made unless you cancel 30 days or more before the beginning of the first session. After the first session is held, there will be no refunds, as those monies have already been paid to the facility and the trainers for the year.
Likewise, if you are attending the June or August intensive session, refunds can only be made if you cancel 30 days or more before the beginning of the session. This, of courses, means that anyone dropping out after the session begins will not receive a refund.
Tuition assistance is available to parishes in the Diocese of Olympia.
Participation in the College for Congregational Development asks parish leaders and parishes to commit their time and resources to the effort. Should a parish or individual not be able to afford the full tuition, the Diocese of Olympia is able to offer a limited amount of tuition assistance.
If you would like to apply for tuition assistance, fill out the tuition assistance section on the registration form. We will confirm by e-mail or phone that you or your group has been given tuition assistance and, if so, what amount.
